Hurricanes' Home Opener

I ended up getting a free ticket to the Canes game last night from one of our Marketing vendors. He said he has some pretty good seats for us. He was wrong. He had AMAZING seats for us. The vendor grabbed us some hotdogs and beer and we headed to our spots...

Section 122, Row D. Right at the away-side-goalie face-off circle, 4 rows from the ice.

The Canes played a good game. Down 1-0 the whole game, where the Canes just missed 3 goals. One of them even lit the lamps, but on review the puck did not completely cross the line. Another was a ricochet off the goalie's right shoulder that just barely caught the post and bounced out.

Another highlight was seeing Ovechkin checked into the glass 3 feet in front of us with his big dumb face streaking across the boards...

On the way out, while walking up the stairs, we kept hearing people yelling questions to "Sidney". Turns out the guy walking behind me up the steps was Sidney Lowe. He answered every yelled question about this season with "Yes, we're really excited".

Gotta love random job perks...
